Know our team

Nutrition International’s Program Operations Unit is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of Nutrition International’s core program interventions including program development, design, planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting, and grant management, including setting annual operational planning, budgeting and review processes. The unit comprises a global team of professionals located in our 10 core countries across Asia, Africa and our headquarters in Ottawa, Canada. Currently, Nutrition International is seeking applications for Gender Advisor –CNDN/ PINGS Project to be based in, Senegal.

About you:

Graduate degree in social sciences with a focus on health, or nutrition, public health. A background in policy and/or planning is preferred. A minimum of ten years of experience, including at least five years of relevant experience in policy and/or planning of women’s leadership development interventions, is required. Experience working in a decentralized environment.

Strong knowledge of a range of stakeholders, including PNDN, PINGS, donors, private sector, NGOs, and local governments.

About the role.

In this role the Gender Advisor will provide:

  • Technical advice, management support, and inputs to the Executive Secretariat of CNDN (SECNDN) on the effective mainstreaming of gender into nutrition policy, programming, implementation, and monitoring in Senegal;
  • Daily advice to key national, regional and local government, community and civil society actors in the operationalization of the National Nutrition Development Policy (NNDP) for effective gender mainstreaming.
  • PINGS action plans and activities are consistent with the National Nutrition Policy and complement other ongoing and planned government initiatives and actions on gender and nutrition;
  • Appropriate tools and guidance are developed to report and communicate the gender equality results of the project to the donor and other stakeholders; in conjunction with the PINGS gender officer and SECNDN

He/she will liaise with the PINGS Gender Officer, develop, implement, monitor and evaluate the PINGS project gender strategy.
