Know our team

Nutrition International’s Program Operations Unit is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of Nutrition International’s core program interventions including program development, design, planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting, and grant management, including setting annual operational planning, budgeting and review processes. The unit comprises a global team of professionals located in our 10 core countries across Asia, Africa and our headquarters in Ottawa, Canada. Currently, Nutrition International is seeking applications for Leadership Development and Advocacy Advisor to be based in, Senegal.

About you

Post-graduate degree in Social Sciences, Legal and/or Political Science, Public Relations, Communication or related field; At least five (5) years of relevant professional experience, including development and implementation of advocacy strategies. Understand advocacy program and campaign fundamentals (design, execution, monitoring and evaluation, Knowledge of the public policy framework, Knowledge of the context of sectoral policy development and the development of Multi-Year Expenditure Planning Documents (MYEPs),Knowledge/experience in participating in key mechanisms to influence the agenda of multilateral organizations and donors. Strong knowledge of various policy and advocacy approaches. Very good experience working with coalitions and networks, including those of civil society in Senegal;

About the role.

In this role you will be:

  • Developing and implementing advocacy strategies and initiatives that support the institutionalization process of nutrition at all levels;
  • Ensuring that the proposed CNDN advocacy initiatives address all key issues and reach all targets. As such, he/she will develop a rigorous approach to action planning as well as mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating results
  • Supporting the teams of the Executive Secretary of CNDN and the sectoral ministries in programming, resource mobilization and networking in the framework of the implementation of the Multisectoral Strategic Plan for Nutrition (PSMN).
