NRC is looking for a Protection Cluster Co-lead in Mali.

NRC has been present in Mali since 2012 and we are now operating in the regions of Mopti, Timbuktu, Goa and Menaka. We strive to provide lifesaving short-term and long-term aid to displaced people in Mali, as well as the most vulnerable among host communities.

NRC is active in Mali with four core competencies that are Education, Food Security, Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) and Shelter. In order to be more relevant and meet people needs, these core competencies are enhanced by Rapid Response Mechanism, Humanitarian mediation and protection programs.

The Protection Cluster Co-lead reports to the Country Director.

Job description

• Promote and support accountability to affected populations
• Promote protection mainstreaming
• Assist the lead agency in monitoring, reporting and analysis
• Support advocacy and resource mobilization
• Ensure application of standards
• Undertake training and capacity building

• Minimum 5 years of experience from working as a senior protection manager in a humanitarian/recovery context.
• Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
• Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
• Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
• Fluency in French, both written and verbal
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is desirable
• Knowledge of the context of Mali is desirable
• Proven capacity in protection
• Experience with previous protection co-lead position is an advantage
