Are you our next Food Security Programme Development Manager in Bamenda?

NRC started operations in Cameroon in April 2017 to respond to the humanitarian crisis that affects this country and has continued to expand into the worst affected and hard to reach areas . He therefore runs operations in the Extreme North and more recently in the south and North West regions of Cameroon implementing Education, Food Security, WASH, Shelter and ICLA. The Country Office has been expanding steadily the past one year and the team currently consists of around 80 national staff members.

The purpose of the Programme Development Manager is to design, develop and implement the Food Security programme in Cameroon.

The Food Security Programme Development reports to the Area Manager.

Main responsibilities:

  • Develop Food Security strategy, technical SOPs / guidelines and Macro LFAs;
  • Compliance and adherence to NRC policies, Food Security tools, handbooks and guidelines;
  • Responsible of development and manage funding proposal, project budgets and donor reports;
  • Overall management of project staff;
  • Coordinate and manage Food Security project implementation (activities, budget and project documentation) in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements;
  • Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills;
  • Liaison and collaborate with relevant local and national authorities and stakeholders and represent NRC in relevant forums/cluster/working groups;
  • Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy.

Expériences / Formation du candidat
  • Relevant University degree;
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the mainstream donors’ regulations;
  • Knowledge of the context in Cameroon is an advantage;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience from a senior Program Management level position in a humanitarian/recovery context;
  • Hands on experience of projects’ implementation in complex and volatile contexts;
  • Technical Food Security expertise;
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities;
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile;
  • Fluency in English and French, both written and verbal;
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • Detail oriented;
  • Flexible and hardworking;
  • Strategic thinker.
