Net Impact Racial Equity Fellowship Program 2018/2019

Net Impact Racial Equity Fellowship Program 2018/2019

Deadline: October 8, 2018

Net Impact Racial Equity Fellowship 2018/2019. The Net Impact Fellowship is a year-long remote leadership development program where Fellows have the option of doing a project related to raising awareness or creating institutional change in their campuses or communities around the topic of racial equity. The Racial Equity Fellowship is supported by Newman’s Own Foundation and Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights.

As a fellow, you will receive free Net Impact Conference registration, a stipend to complete an action project on your campus, virtual leadership development training, and access to a cohort of like-minded peers. You will not receive compensation for participating in the Fellowship program.

Fellowships

This year they have four Fellowships. They invite you to read through this page carefully, then apply to the cohorts you are most interested in. You are welcome to apply to more than one, ranking your choices.

  1. Climate Fellowship: There’s growing scientific research around the connection between human health and environmental health. In fact, the World Health Organization estimates that more than 12 million deaths annually are caused by environmental risks, including air pollution and climate impacts. Fellows have the option of doing a project related to raising awareness or creating institutional change on campus around the topic of climate change. The Climate Fellowship is supported by Johnson & Johnson.
  2. Impact Investing & Diversity Fellowship: The impact investing field is currently less racially diverse than it should be in order to be inclusive of practitioners from different backgrounds and better mirror the communities it aims to serve. This means that people of color are left behind in one of the most exciting, growing, and impactful fields of our time. This fellowship seeks to build diversity in the impact investing sector through identifying and supporting high potential future leaders in the field, connecting them to mentors and opportunities, and showcasing their stories to others. Fellows will be asked to design and implement an educational event on their campus focused on impact investing that incorporates local experts and organizations in the field. The Impact Investing & Diversity Fellowship is supported by The Kresge Foundation.
  3. Racial Equity Fellowship: Fellows have the option of doing a project related to raising awareness or creating institutional change on campus around the topic of racial equity. Projects might advance the topics of education access, criminal justice, cultural appreciation, or terminology and misconceptions. The Racial Equity Fellowship is supported by Newman’s Own Foundation, Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, and Symantec Foundation.
  4. Food Fellowship: Fellows have the option of doing a project related to raising awareness or creating institutional change on campus around the topic of food. Projects might advance the topics of plant-based diets, access and nutrition, waste, or something else. The Food Fellowship is supported by Newman’s Own Foundation.
