Data Analyst and Mobile Layaway Associate role

This position is a core role within myAgro that helps accelerate myAgro’s ability to scale, reach 100% sustainability and increase its impact. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that myAgro’s unique mobile layaway platform operates smoothly in the field. Managing the card inventory across hundreds of mobile vendors, ensuring complete transparency and accuracy of each individual transaction from our tens of thousands of smallholder farmer clients, and contributing to the overall improvement of myAgro Senegal’s core field program- this role is critical to myAgro’s success.

Program Design: Be the backbone supporting myAgro’s mobile layaway platform in the field, ensuring that transactions occurring across platform happen with greater efficiency and transparency
Automate processes to ensure smooth data flows to permit tighter control of myAgro’s scratch card inventory held in the field by our mobile vendors
Own the process that allows for myAgro to accurately track and receive payments occurring across the platform from our tens of thousands of smallholder farmer clients
Actively participate in program design meetings to provide valuable insight into and contributions to myAgro’s field program
Data analysis: Take on projects to utilize myAgro’s data to help answer interesting programmatic questions (e.g. study the impact of a new marketing strategy on sales, find the optimum compensation structure to motivate our sales team)
Analyze field transaction and program data to make recommendations on how we can increase our financial self-sufficiency in the coming years
Serve as internal consultant on any and all high-priority data analysis needs arising within other programs
Leadership Development: Lead a team of data quality agents in the field to help ensure data cleanliness and completeness
Manage a small team of data quality assistants at headquarters, building their capacity and pushing them to grow professionally
Develop trainings for local staff to strengthen their capacity as middle and senior managers, e.g. in Excel, data analysis, process development, and reporting

Required Skills & Qualifications

French and English proficiency
Data analysis (Excel, Excel VBA, or other programming language experience)
At least 1 year of international, developing country experience
A passion for the mission, vision and values of myAgro

Skills and Competencies

Bachelors degree in related field
Strong MS Office experience, particularly using Excel
Strategic thought process and strong decision-making capabilities based on data analytics
Proven ability to present findings from data analyses to a non-technical audience
Creative and versatile approach to problem-solving; solution-oriented
Proven, strong communication skills and ability to work cross culturally
As with any start up, flexibility, a sense of humor and an open mind are necessary
