Are you an emerging leader eager to improve the well-being of the Internet’s global routing system? Apply for the Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS) Fellowship Program 2020.

The program gives highly motivated individuals the chance to work alongside MANRS ambassadors, who are industry leaders participating in the Ambassador Program. Together, they will train diverse communities on good routing practices, analyze routing incidents, research into ways to secure routing, and survey the global policy landscape.

Fellows will improve their skills and bring new perspectives and ideas to MANRS. They will also gain valuable insights and networking opportunities from well-respected professionals called MANRS Ambassadors under the MANRS Ambassadors Program.

Categories

There will be three (3) categories:

  • Virtual/online Trainers
  • Researchers
  • Policy Analysts

Stipend

  • Each fellow will receive a stipend of $750 a month.

Eligibility

Virtual/Online trainers

  • Minimum 2 years working experience in the field, as part of the team managing a network
  • Good working understanding of BGP
  • Have conducted training either for RIRs or other community-based organization (e.g. NOGs)

Researchers

  • Minimum 4 years working experience in the field, as part of the team managing a network
  • Good working understanding of BGP dumps
  • Understanding of routing incidents
  • Able to clearly communicate (in English) about these incidents

Policy Analysts

  • Basic understanding of how routing works and the concepts of routing security
  • Experience in writing policy documents
  • Experience in working with policy makers or on participation in different policy forums
