Clinical Mentor – Antimicrobial Stewardship.ContextThe MSF Academy (Médecins Sans Frontières Academy) for Healthcare is an intersectional training initiative, hosted by OCB, that focuses on strengthening the skills and competencies of healthcare workers in MSF projects, with the will to have a long-term impact on the quality of care in the countries where MSF intervenes. It does so by developing and providing specific work-based learning programs to medical and paramedical workers in the targeted health structures.The Academy has a growing portfolio of learning projects addressing specific objectives of different categories of healthcare staff in MSF. All these projects are chosen in line with overall MSF operational and medical priorities. More information on the MSF Academy and its activities can be found on https://academy.msf.org/fr/As part of the ambition to fight antibiotic resistance in MSF projects, Operational Center Amsterdam (OCA) and the MSF have developed the AMR learning initiative to train “Infection Prevention and Control” (IPC) supervisors/managers and Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) focal points) in MSF projects from all operational centers. The project is partnering with BSAC (British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy), a respectable international organization to develop the curriculum content in collaboration with OCA and transfer into an e-learning format. The IPC and AMS courses are provided in both French and English. Clinical mentoring is provided to each participant, alongside the course, to facilitate learning integration and transfer to the working practice.It provides access to an internationally recognized Diploma course aiming to improve both the technical and managerial competencies of MSF Locally Hired Staff (LHS) working as the focal points for IPC and AMS. Each course lasts 10 months and is structured in 5 modules, corresponding to a total of 160 hours of learning, including clinical mentoring.
