This is a volunteer role onboard the Africa Mercy, a hospital ship, currently serving in Dakar, Senegal.

Summary: Our floating K-12 Academy offers the highest level of primary and secondary education to the children of long-term volunteers serving onboard the Africa Mercy. The Social Studies Teacher instructs and evaluates High School students in the Social Sciences, including: history, government, economics, and geography while providing proper communication with parents and school administration.

Description:

The Social Studies Teacher volunteer position is part of the Academy department and is located on the Africa Mercy, the world’s largest non-governmental hospital ship. The preferred minimum time commitment for this role is two years.

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s Degree in education from an accredited college or university is required
– Two years of classroom teaching experience
– Current teaching certificate / license required
– Clear criminal records check, background check, and/or working with children certificate (or national equivalent
