I get a fuller picture of who they are as people and how I can best teach them!” Beth Kirchner, Kindergarten Teacher onboard the Africa Mercy Description: The below volunteer positions, part of the Academy department, will be located on the Africa Mercy and Global Mercy, the world’s largest non-governmental hospital ships. The preferred minimum time commitment for this role is two years. We recommend all interested applicants to submit an application at least six months in advance of your target service date. Preschool Teacher Kindergarten Class Teacher Grade 1 Teacher Grade 2 Teacher Grade 3 Teacher Grade 4 and 5 Teacher High School English Teacher High School Math Teacher Science Teacher Social Studies Teacher P.E. and Technology Teacher French Teacher Position Requirements Bachelor, 1 to 2 Years work experience Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in education or related field from an accredited college or university is required • Two years classroom teaching experience, preferred • Current teaching certificate / license required • Clear criminal records check, background check, and/or working with children certificate (or national equivalent) • Acquire an Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Teacher Certificate within one year from date of hire Required Language Skills: • English – Very good Additional Information / Benefits The opportunity to use your professional skills to make a global impact.
