Description de l’offre Senior Chef (Volunteer) Nom de l’entreprise : Mercy Ships Lieu de l’entreprise : Dakar, Senegal This is a volunteer role onboard the Africa Mercy, the largest charity hospital ship in the world! Summary: In this role, you will plan and prepare onboard menus, train the Galley Team, and ensure hygiene, safety, and cleanliness procedures are observed in all Galley areas. This position reports to the Food Services Manager by ensuring the Galley Team Leaders have everything they need to complete their daily tasks and responsibilities. Description: We couldn’t do what we do without healthy and delicious meals onboard. Our Galley Team spends every day supplying our crew and patients with the food they need to keep going! The Senior Chef is a volunteer position, part of the Food Services Department, and is located on the Africa Mercy, the world’s largest charity hospital ship. The preferred minimum commitment for this role is two years. Are you interested in volunteering with your family? This position may qualify for a family cabin onboard! Qualifications: • Culinary certificate and/or degree and/or five years cooking experience preferred • Previous management experience preferred • Conversant in French preferred • Certificate in Food Hygiene (Food Handler’s Card – ServSafe) preferred • Ability to lift 30 lbs./14 kg. regularly and have the endurance for physical labour activities including bending, kneeling, and walking up and down stairs. | |
