The Merck Foundation’s Africa Media Recognition Awards “More Than a Mother” 2022 is now open for nominations.
Themes
Media representatives and media students are invited to showcase their work to raise awareness about one or more of the following social issues such as: Breaking Infertility Stigma, Supporting Girl Education, Women Empowerment, Ending Child Marriage, Ending FGM, and/ or Stopping GBV at all levels.
Award Categories
Print Media: 500 USD
Online Media: 500 USD
Radio: 500 USD
Multimedia: 1000 USD
Eligibility Criteria
Journalists from Print, Radio, Online, and Multimedia platforms from the following groups:
Southern African Countries
West African Countries
East African Countries
African French Speaking Countries
African Portuguese Speaking Countries
Selection Criteria
The selection committee may decide to grant awards to more winners for each category based on the number and quality of applications received.
Submissions can be on one or more topics mentioned in the theme above.
Submissions should be published and available in the public domain in order to be eligible.
