The MSF movement is built around five operational directorates supported by MSF’s 24 sections, 24 associations and other offices together worldwide. MSF OCBA is one of those directorates. The operations are implemented by field teams and the mission coordination teams; together with the organizational units based in Barcelona, Athens and decentralised in Nairobi, Dakar and Amman. The field operations are guided and supported by 5 Operational Cells, the Emergency Unit and other departments supporting operations

General context

MSF staff should have adequate, up-to-date practical experience to carry out the required competencies and confidently perform specific task, to ensure quality on the services that are provided population that MSF assist..

MSF Field simulation is contributing to the development of these competences by :

  • Designing and implementing F2F and online simulation based learning solutions that can be effectively used at field level by trained supervisors with the support of the mission’s HR & technical departments Dept.’s
  • Create CAPACITY in MSF staff to organize and implement simulation activities.
  • Developing manuals, guidelines, documents…to support field teams to implement simulation activities

General objective

The main objective of this position of Mobil Implementer Positions is to ensure the implementation and integration, of simulation activities in the field.

Placement within the organisation

This position will be hierarchically to the head of Dakar Unit and functionally accountable and technically supported by the Project manager of the TIC MSF Simulation.

Responsibilities and main functions

In close collaboration and supported by the Project manager of the TIC Simulation in all steps:

This includes with the support of the Project manager of the TIC Simulation :

  • Preliminary analysis and identification of the needs of the field related to simulation activities.
  • Plan and prepare with field teams the implementation of the simulation activities,
  • Implement and integrate simulation activities adapted to the field needs and context ,
  • Capacity building and supporting local facilitators of the regional missions.
  • Monitoring the implementation and continuity of the simulation activities and provide support to the fields
  • Exploring potentials of partnership and collaboration with other regional actors involved simulations

Selection criteria

Education and experience

  • Nurse or doctor with MSF field experience is an asset. At least 2 years / with experience in emergency interventions
  • Qualified training in simulation methodology and facilitation is an asset
  • Experience on developing learning projects/activities and / or carrying similar tasks described above.
  • French i and English is a must, Spanish and/or Arabic are very much valued.

Conditions

  • Field based position with up to 80% field visits (based at home when not in the field)
  • Full time work
  • Temporary contract (12 months)
  • Annual gross salary: + secondary benefits based on MSF OCBA Reward Policy.
  • Starting date: May 2021
