MDM recruits 01 Field coordinator Aden (F/M) – Yemen

MdM currently works in 30 countries across all continents where it focuses on 5 priority areas: emergency and crisis, sexual and reproductive health, harm reduction, migrants and displaced populations (health rights), health and environment.
Presently, MdM intervene in the Northern part of Yemen in the governorates of Sanaa and Amanat Alasima (total 5 HFs). In southern governorates of Yemen particularly in Abyan, Lahj and Aden (total 10 HFs). MdM strategy is based on 2 key axes:
- To provide primary healthcare services, including OPD, vaccination, nutritional care, sexual and reproductive health
- To provide mental healthcare and psychosocial support in specific healthcare institutions and via a network of CHVs trained in detection and community awareness-raising
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the general coordinator based in Sana’a, you ensure smooth implementation of the projects in South Yemen. You supervise the overall field project team (about 35 staffs) and ensure close collaboration between the logistics, medical and administrative departments.
Your main responsibilities are the following:
Program implementation and management
- Ensure the implementation of the program and its follow-up
- Continuously assess the needs & adjust the programmes to the needs
- Contribute to the definition / revision of MdM strategy in South Yemen, draw up scenarios and proposals, and support the budget creation/revision for future activities
Logistics, finance and administration
- Ensure familiarity with donors’ compliance issues, ensuring all projects are compliant with these and MdM procedures
- Ensure appropriate administrative, financial and logistical MdM systems/procedures are in place
- Be responsible for accurate budget control and overall responsibility for financial management at the project site in line with project proposals
- Ensure that financial needs are well planned according to activities workplan
Human resource management
- Participate to the recruitment process
- Be responsible for the disciplinary and grievance procedures
- Maintain good inter-team communications, engender good team dynamics
- Support team members professionally and monitor and support stress management, including regular documented team meetings for planning and reporting purposes
- Carry out appraisals
- Ensure briefing and debriefing
- Be responsible for capacity building and training
Representation, relations with authorities and reporting
- Carry out representation with other NGOs, UN agencies, local and national government bodies, traditional authorities, donors and other relevant parties
- Participate to all relevant meetings and build a strong relationship with all partners
- Elaborate coordination report with the coordination team
- Participate to proposals, concept note & reports to donors
Safety and security management
- Ensure team security and safety
- Proactively monitor the political, military and security situation in the project areas
- Ensure that appropriate security guidelines are developed, communicated, adhered to, and regularly reviewed
- Ensure timely and accurate security incident reports
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Status : Employee Contract : Fixed-term contract
Duration : 6 months
Starting date: as soon as possible
Based in Aden with regular travels to Sana’a
Gross monthly salary 3 175 euros
Premium equal to one month salary paid in two instalments – minimum of 6 months seniority required
Expatriation bonus (10% gross salary per month)
Transportation cost, vaccines and visas covered
Guesthouse housing
22.5 RTT (recovery days) per year
5 weeks of paid leaves per year
Health insurance (60% covered by MdM and 40% by the employee)
Insurance (repatriation…)
Teleworking agreement for positions eligible to telework: 110 days/year (minimum of 1 day per week onsite)

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
Minimum 3-year experience in a similar position with an international NGO working in emergency contexts, managing programmes, preferably within the health sector, or previous field experience with MdM in different contexts
Previous experience of project planning and budget holding, proposal and report writing
Experience of security management at the field site level
Languages: Fluent in English is mandatory and knowledge of Arabic would be an asset
