About MAG in West Africa
MAG supports the development of countries emerging from conflict by finding and destroying the explosive remnants of war, so that communities can raise their families and pursue their livelihoods in a safe and secure environment, free from fear of death or injury. The main area of focus in MAG’s programmes across West Africa is Arms Management and Destruction (AMD) work, working with national defence and security authorities towards the safe storage, management and destruction of weapons and munitions.
About the role
This is an exciting time to join the MAG West Africa team, which is undergoing a period of change. This new post will report to the Regional Director (RD), and will be a member of the Regional Senior Management Team (SMT). You will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to ensure the efficient and effective management of support services for MAG’s activities in the region, focusing on high risk and high-volume procurement, and third-party contractor management. You will capacity build national logistics staff within the region, and will set up and manage systems, increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of support service functions. You will also provide support to the Regional Director in risk management.
About you
You will have senior management experience overseas, preferably in international aid and development with a humanitarian agency in a developing country, and experience of developing, implementing and managing procurement, logistics and management systems. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to coordinate activities, teams and improve processes are essential. You will be self-motivated, able to demonstrate initiative and have the ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels.
The ability to work in both French and English is required.

- Salary: The starting salary package for this position is £48,954 per annum and this increases with service.
Accommodation: MAG will provide accommodation in-country. - Leave: We recognise our staff work hard and need the appropriate time out to stay motivated. You’ll have a minimum of six/eight weeks out of the programme per year
- Flights: MAG provides three international flights home per year
