Opportunity
Join Maersk’s Dakar team as an Accounting Intern to gain practical experience and contribute to essential accounting functions. Assist in financial data entry, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and audit support. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic global logistics company.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to vendor and associate inquiries in a timely manner and assist in resolving payment issues
- Audit, code, and input data invoices and/or other payables
- Assist in preparation of required information for month end close and audit controls
- Process On-Demand vendor payables to provide immediate remittance
- Complete Vendor Statement Analysis · Insure timely and accurate submission of received vendor invoices
- Coordinate and submit vendor master data in adherence to company policy
- Perform data entry for all processes with a minimum of errors
- Maintain records, logs, information, reports, and data appropriate to business processes and/or procedures
Requirements
- Enrollment in or recent graduation from a relevant accounting or finance degree program.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel, and familiarity with accounting software is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and local languages.
- Positive attitude, adaptability, and eagerness to learn.
