Would you like to be part of a value driven, commercially oriented international environment where we enable global trade every day? As the FbM Engineering Service Manager your primary role is to ensure the highest level of maintenance and readiness to support seamless Operations execution.
You will provide and supervise maintenance services for all facilities, including, HVAC systems, electrical systems, water distribution, fire-fighting installations, sewages and drainages, yard pavements and repairs.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
SAFETY
Ensure all buildings, facilities, and infrastructure within the area are maintained in accordance with local legislation, Maersk HSSE and global standards.
Implement/reinforce, with the assistance of HSSE Dpt, Maersk HSSE policies to be followed by all contractors to ensure that maintenance jobs are executed safely.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by touring the facilities regularly and fixing proactively breakdowns/defects seen or reported by the team.
set up Safety Training programs with the HSSE team, for outside vendors to maintain proper certifications and adherence to our policies.
Organize HSSE safety audits and assessments of the relevant external contractors working for Maersk, with the assistance of the HSSE Dpt.
PERFORMANCE
Ensure all preventive, corrective maintenance and inspection activities are completed efficiently as per the maintenance planning schedule, with the higher priority on HSSE related issues.
Ensure KPIs and budgets for facilities maintenance and any project execution are met for buildings and infrastructure within the area.
Setup performance appraisal for our contractors with Vendor Management to foster a culture of continuous improvement among them.
STRATEGY
Develop maintenance strategies for all buildings and infrastructure within the area, including all minimum requirements specified by Global Asset Maintenance. Ensure the continuous review and improvement of the maintenance strategies.
Create and maintain a proper Preventive Maintenance and inspection system of all facilities within the NWA area, including offices, depots, warehouses…
Implement an incident reporting and job requisition system to ensure a quick notification and management of maintenance issues.
Work with CL project manager to ensure that the maintenance requirements are considered at early stage on projects.
ASSET INTEGRITY
Accountable for ensuring the integrity of all buildings and infrastructure within the area, considering the age of buildings and infrastructure, through development and execution of appropriate preventive, predictive and inspection activities.
Maintain records on dedicated system for maintenance of all facility including Scale inspections, Lifting Devices, Man Cages, and Elevator inspections, pressure vessels. The system should allow advance notification of coming maintenance and also the follow-up of completed ones.
CONTRACT MANAGEMENT
Directly supervise the contractors to ensure all work assignments are completed in a proper, safe, and efficient manner.
Monitor and evaluate facility maintenance operations, programs, processes and practices for quality and effectiveness; makes recommendations for improvement.
Establish a process with Admin and Finance to ensure all jobs are received and signed off for completion and compliance before settlement.
COST MANAGEMENT
Develop budgets for all planned preventive and corrective maintenance for buildings and infrastructure within the area.
Proactively track and manage cost of maintenance for buildings and infrastructure, intervene when costs escalate and identify ways to reduce.
Assist Procurement/Admin to pick the best contractors based on technical requirements but also on cost effectiveness.
CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Engineering degree in Mechanics, Civil works or Electricals
Good civil works, electrical and mechanical aptitude. Ability to read schematics.
Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience in an operational Asset Maintenance or facility management related environment
Strong leadership and motivational skills
Experience in a strong service oriented, stakeholder-management focused environment
Understanding of Building and infrastructure maintenance planning metrics, principles, its processes, and requirements
Practical, planning and work scheduling capabilities, ready to improve and challenge the status quo.
Structured, driven, self-motivating, result orientated.
Must have extensive knowledge of general safety, health, and environmental issues.
Must have working knowledge of budget preparation, basic financial related matters, and reporting against financial objectives.
Requires good verbal and written communications skills in English.
Effective interpersonal skills.
