As the Fleet & Technical Manager you will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of the fleet and assets, including trucks, trailers, vans, gensets, container handling equipment, warehouse handling equipment, etc. Further she/he will guide and coach multiple teams of technicians, and ensuring our equipment is maintained in a safe and suitable manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Excellence
Driving technical excellence in maintenance of assets
In collaboration with procurement, ensuring that we have the right service providers in place to provide spare parts and maintain our equipment
Providing technical expertise to the rest of the organization as and when required, e.g. for acquisition of new or replacement equipment
Developing and managing best practice for asset maintenance and management
Overseeing the administrative requirements including warranty obligations, inspection of records, manual updates, equipment defect reports, maintenance services, policies, procedures, and practices
Leadership
Developing and coaching strong teams of technicians who carry out technical tasks in-house
Supporting continuous learning, training and education of technical nature
HSSE & Compliance
Maintaining an effective safety program, coordinating safety training with HSSE Department; ensures all injuries are reported timely, properly investigated, and measures taken to prevent future injuries
Reviewing and recommending updates to maintenance services policies and procedures to ensure quality, reliability, and efficiencies
Commercial mindset:
Driving an « owner’s mentality » when it comes to total cost of ownership over the asset lifecycle
Ensuring adequate level of control
New products introduction and implementation (go-live)
Driving performance transparency and continuous improvement culture in collaboration with CI colleagues
Be comfortable working in a matrix organization, managing and dealing with a multitude of internal stakeholders
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
To succeed in this role, you should have strong communication skills and be able to coach and multi-task. As for the skillset and experience, we are looking for:
Degree in engineering (mechanical and/or electrical). Additional training in both electrical and mechanical fields in any heavy industry is a plus.
Experience in guiding and coaching teams
Prior experience in an industry such as ports, logistics, mining, or manufacturing is a plus
