Maersk Gabon is looking to hire a dynamic Customer Service Agent to join our team. The Customer Service Agent – Manifest & Amendment will be the primary point of contact for customers at counter, assist the Customer for Inbound Shipment, Freight/Local/Demurrage Charges, etc. own/manage processes that impact customer experience in all interactions with Customs, Ports Authority and other key stake holders in the manifest process and In all aspects of the position to identify and bring forward opportunities for improvement of the customer experience and Maersk Line/Safmarine processes.

Key responsibilities
• Act as a primary contact for manifest and amendment related queries.
• Follow up with the GSC for timely manifest submission to customs (24hrs prior vessel’s arrival)
• Act as a primary contact to GSC for manifest related clarifications.
• Ensure that customers amendment is submitted and finalized within a specific deadline
• At all times adhere to company procedures and regulatory requirements
• Ensure to report the complete data for shipments amended in the customs with reason and owner.
• Checking and ensuring hard copy manifest (Imports & exports) are dispatched to customs and customs file completed prior submission.
• Follow up for pending additional manifest to be submit once customs approved.
• Ensure that customs fine for manifest submission is done and receipt released to finance.
• In case of any wrong discharge ensure that customs are aware and keep them update to get the re-export approval.
• Handle the follow up with customer once any manifest correction is done
• Effecient handling the amendment by phone or mails
• Be aware of and help drive continuous improvement opportunities.
• Keep update the stakeholder for any new customs procedure and regulations.
• To always behave in a manner consistent with and loyal to the A.P. Moller – Maersk
• Values.Ensure all data quality prechecks are performed prior submission as per SOP
• Ensure shortest turn time for customs requests resolution.
• Provide weekly update on cost incurred in week -1.
• Minimise cost to agency by anticipating and providing solutions
• Ensure proper follow up with relevant stakeholder about BIETC
• Ensure import longstanding and document filing done on time
We are looking for
– Graduation in Logistic, commercial or other related fields.
– Customs application ( Sydonia) knowledge is a plus
– Excellent Written and Verbal skills with people at all levels in English and French.
– Microsoft Package literacy (Word, Excel, Power Point)
