We are looking for a self-motivated legal counsel, organized and ready to perform the position tasks independently, working with senior stakeholders, and dealing with customers and external lawyers. The role of this position will demand working across functions, with different GSC’s, looking at the customer base for all Maersk brands, but especially for Maersk and Hamburg Süd, being an internal focal point prior to sending the collection cases to Litigation (external legal counsels).

Key responsibilities• Negotiating customized payment options with customers tagged with booking restrictions prior to filing a legal action.• Acting as an internal legal contact for Accounting Receivables Department and Commercial Department prior to sending the collection cases to external lawyers, working across the function, with multiple countries (GSCs), looking at the customer base in Maersk and HSUD, and with senior management.• Preparing reports and managing the relevant information about the collection cases under his/her responsibility, providing such reports to the Financial and Accounting Receivable Department, GCCs as well as to his/her respective direct report;• Law firms management, handling documents and invoices issued by such vendors, ensuring that all the legal fees are in accordance with the respective legal fee agreements.• Recommending write off of cases under legal disputes depending on the status of the case and chances of recovering the amount under dispute.
We are looking for• You have a Law degree• 6+ years of experience dealing collections and have experience/knowledge around legal aspects• You have outstanding negotiation skills.• You want to work cross-functionally mainly with Customer Service, Commercial and Accounting Receivables departments.• You are used to work in a truly international environment.• You communicate clearly and effectively to colleagues from different business areas.• You learn quickly and easily adapt to changing situations and priorities• You are hungry and enjoy being constantly challenged to learn and do more.• You embrace conflict of ideas and like to question the status quo.POSTULER
