Justdiggit recrute 01 Program Manager restauration du paysage, Sénégal
Justdiggit is a fast-growing scale-up NGO working on large-scale landscape restoration in Africa. We are looking for an experienced programs manager to set up our first programs in Senegal.
Who we are looking for
As we aim to expand to Senegal, we are looking for an experienced program manager to lead this effort. In this role, you will be Justdiggit’s first employee in Senegal. You will work closely together with other Justdiggit staff (mainly based in Nairobi and Amsterdam) to find local implementing partners and set up landscape restoration projects with them. As we also have a strong emphasis on awareness raising, you will also liaise with local media organizations.
We do not have an office in Senegal yet. However, as our footprint grows, we expect to hire additional personnel and set up a regional office in Dakar.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and select local implementing partners for landscape restoration projects with a strong focus on Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) and rainwater harvesting;
- Co-design scalable ecosystem restoration projects with our local implementing partners and the rest of the Justdiggit organization;
- Implement and manage landscape restoration projects, including donor reports; Be a strong advocate for Justdiggit within Senegal and first point of contact for Senegal-based (potential) partners;
- Liaise with Senegal-based media organizations;
- Create and drive a growth strategy for Justdiggit in Senegal.
Required experience and skills
The ideal candidate has:
- Affinity with Justdiggit’s mission;
- A hands-on mentality, shows initiative and has a positive attitude;
- A master’s degree in a relevant study, such as environmental science;
- A strong network relevant to this job;
- Several years of experience in a similar position;
- International experience, whether it be working abroad, or working for an international organisation; Strong organisational and administrative skills;
- A structured and analytical way of thinking;
- The ability to prioritise, work both independently and as part of a team;
- Excellent communication skills;
- And is fluent in French, English and preferably Wolof.
