International Day of People with Disability Grant Program in Australia

The Nillumbik is seeking applications for International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) Grant Program to support community groups, schools and not-for-profit organisations to highlight an existing or new community activity, project or event to celebrate IDPwD 2021.

The International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is a United Nations sanctioned day held on 3 December each year. The day highlights the contributions people with disability make across the community in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
Funding Information
Up to $1,000 from a grant pool of $5,000
Grant funding can not be used to fund wages or in-kind hours
Ineligible Projects
Applications will NOT be considered for:
A project, event or activity that is not being held in the Nillumbik municipal boundary, or does not directly benefit Nillumbik residents
Ongoing payment of salaries, administrative, maintenance or organisational operating costs
Duplication of existing projects, programs, initiatives or products currently funded by Council
Retrospective funding or projects which are not being run during the November and December 2021
Alcohol or gambling related activities
Projects that have received full funding from another source
Applicants that are in debt to or have any outstanding commitments with the Shire.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must:
Be an incorporated not-for profit organisation, community group, school or individual who represents a community group, organisation or school, that delivers projects and activities within the Shire of Nillumbik
Be auspiced by an incorporated body for unincorporated groups
Hold a minimum of $10 million public liability insurance
Have acquitted and is compliant with all Nillumbik grants previously awarded by Council
Projects must be undertaken in November or December 2021.
Assessment Criteria
To be successful activities must:
Be within a reasonable price range from free to a maximum of $10 per person
Demonstrate inclusive, creative and innovative activities which broaden community awareness and participation for people with disability
Showcase the skills, abilities, contributions and achievements of people with a disability
Engage people with a disability to celebrate and raise awareness of IDPwD
