Job Duties & Responsibilities
Vehicle OperationSafely drive and maintain the Federation vehicles in a professional, conscientious and safe manner in accordance with Federation standards (Code of Conduct and Drivers Rules and Regulations).
Ensure that all IFRC vehicles are checked daily and weekly (inspection reports), and that they are correctly maintained in authorised workshops. Performance of daily inspections according to the standard form for inspection for vehicles assigned or any other vehicles as instructed.Ensure proper documentation and maintenance up to date of logbook on movement mileage and fuel consumptionSupervise other drivers in the cluster officer
Compliance & SecurityUnderstand and obey all traffic laws and regulations in Ethiopia.
Responsible for the safety and security of passengers, vehicle and freight and image of the IFRCEnsure that all occupants (including driver) of the vehicle are wearing safety belts. Do not proceed with the vehicle until this is the caseEnsure that always the assigned Federation vehicle is equipped with the correct tools and equipment (emergency kit, functioning jack and handle, fire extinguisher, tool kit, warning triangle, a spare wheel with a properly inflated tyre and an approved first aid kit).Ensure that the vehicles are kept clean, inside and outside, at all times and that the Federation stickers are visible.Report all accidents, or other incidents involving other vehicles or pedestrians, to the Logistics Officer/Security OfficerAt all times, be in possession of a valid driving license and make sure that the license is renewed when necessary.
Logistics and ProcurementUndertaking procurement for office administration and office utilities as required and verified by the relative office budget holders and technical units
Prepare of requisition for purchase for the office and delegate`s residence with appropriate authorisation and arrange delivery in a timely and cost-effective manner.Provide office assistance such as photocopying, scanning documents and delivery of documents to different offices as requiredAssist the finance and administration with administrative and finance duties as guided by technical officers in finance and logistics and administration in logistics, petty cash and guest reception services.Advise the logistic officer of needed service and maintenance of the assigned vehicle 3 days in advance.Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Head of the Cluster Office
EducationMinimum Diploma in Auto mechanic, 4WD Vehicle Drive and any other relevant fieldValid Driving Licence, 3rd Grades
ExperienceA minimum of 5 years of field of professional driving and logistic assistanceExperience of working in the field of logistics particularly in fleet and procurement managementRed Cross / Red Crescent knowledge and experienceExperience of working in a Diplomatic Institution, Embassy or International Organisation
Knowledge, Skills and LanguageSelf-supporting in computer (word, excel and email and internet)Ability to work in a cross-cultural and cross-functional environmentAbility to work with tight deadlines and handle multiple tasksBasic mechanical skillsFluently spoken and written English
