ICFJ Knight International Journalism Awards 2019 (Winners receive a trip to the United States)

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) is accepting nominations for the Knight International Journalism Awards 2019. The Knight International Journalism Award recognizes excellent reporting that makes a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Each year, the International Center for Journalists honors outstanding colleagues with the Knight International Journalism Award at their annual gala in Washington, D.C. They’re now seeking nominees whose pioneering coverage or media innovations have made an impact on the lives of people in their countries or regions. C

The award reflects the mission of ICFJ’s Knight International Journalism Fellowships: to instill a culture of news innovation worldwide. The goal is to seed new ideas and services that deepen coverage, expand news delivery and engage citizens in the editorial process. The program is supported by John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Award

Award winners receive a trip to the United States, where they will be honored at ICFJ’s Awards Dinner on November 7, 2019.

Eligibility

  • Open to reporters, editors, technologists, media managers or citizen journalists who, despite difficult circumstances, produce pioneering news reports or innovations that make a significant impact in their countries.
  • Open to nominees whose pioneering coverage or media innovations have a significant impact on the lives of people around the world.
  • Candidates can be reporters, editors, technologists, media managers, citizen journalists or bloggers.

Application

Please send in your nominations by Friday, Feb. 22, 2019. Candidates who meet the awards criteria may nominate themselves.
