JOB CONTEXT: The socioeconomic crisis in South America continued to deteriorate throughout 2018, leading to further collapse of services, deterioration of health facilities, food security, and nutrition among the population, and one of the biggest mass displacements in South America’s history. HI intends to respond by implementing an intervention through local partners, with the aim to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable people, including persons with disabilities, by ensuring access to inclusive and quality services & livelihoods through a multi-sectoral response. The response will include inclusive humanitarian action; rehabilitation and MHPSS support as well as food distribution. HI opened a new mission in a specific part of South America in July 2019 and is searching an operations manager for 5 months to support the structuration and implementation of its projects. YOUR MISSION: Under the supervision of Country Manager, you ensure the continuity of HI’s operational commitments, with responsibility for all projects and i defense of the organization’s interests. With delegated authority from the country manager, you represent HI with the authorities and partners and actively contribute towards the development of new activities. With an operational budget of 1.8 Million euros (ECHO funded), into a team of 20 persons, your responsibilities are:
