Horowhenua Community Support Grant 2020/2021 (New Zealand)

The Horowhenua District Council is seeking applications for its Community Support Grant programme to assist non-profit organisations meeting criteria with projects, events and costs associated with responses to the COVID-19 pandemic and support for community recovery.
Cash Grants for NGOs to improve access to justice around the world
Conservation Grants to research and generate local solutions to environmental problems
Foundation Grants of up to € 100,000 to increase people’s resilience to disasters
Innovative grants to address poverty issues by helping communities reduce violence, promote peace and recover from crises
Funding Information
Funding awarded will vary, but the average grant issued will be between $500.00 and $3,000.00 but with no cap.

Reduced social isolation and/or increased connectedness of people within the community.
Increased participation in communities and social connectedness through collaborating organisations and people working together to achieve a common purpose.
Improved health and general wellbeing of vulnerable sections of the community.
Local people, particularly those who are vulnerable, lonely or isolated, are able to access services and activities that meet their needs.
To support community groups with fixed operating costs that can demonstrate a loss of at least 30% of income, (compared to 2019), due to COVID 19.
To build organisational capacity to respond to increased demand for services and/or building future resilience.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible Organisations:
Non-profit organisations formally constituted as an Incorporated Society or Charity (or whose parent body or project partner is formally constituted);
Located within the Horowhenua District, or providing a targeted project in Horowhenua;
Providing a community service;
Limited in the ability to source funding or revenue Voluntary Groups that are not formally constituted may be eligible for small grants in certain circumstances, particularly if seeking funding to establish themselves as a Charity or Society.
Ineligible Organisations:
Groups funded substantially from Central Government or who have other independent means of regular income;
Organisations needing considerable capital funding;
Organisations with unfinished projects from a previous funding round or outstanding accountability reports;
Individuals;
Applicants submitting an incomplete application.
Applicant Instructions
Applications must include:
Written quotes for each expense item in your project budget that have a cost of over $250. Local suppliers should be used where possible. Where a preferred quote is not the least expensive quote provided, this should be indicated by the applicant.
A copy of your organisations latest financial statements (accounts) that include disclosure of
financial assistance received from other sources. Funds tagged for specific purposes must be
clearly identified.
A bank deposit slip (or certified copy of a bank statement) for an account in the name of the
applicant organisation (or parent body).
Completed application form.
Relevant supporting documentation; cover letters, support letters etc.
