HI – Handicap International is legally registered in Mozambique as a humanitarian and development INGO licensed to operate in Mozambique.
HI is present in Mozambique since 1986, implementing various projects in humanitarian and development contexts.

In Mozambique, Handicap International participated in the relief operations in 2013 after floods in Chokwe Gaza Province where food packages were procured and distributed to over 300 families in the accommodation centres with support from HI staff in coordination with INGC, Social Action department and the Social Protection cluster. HI is also part of a multi-sectoral team of emergency coordination in the component of social protection representing the demands and specific needs of people with disability. As such, HI mandate ensures that principles of protection and accountability are also mainstreamed in its interventions.
Currently, HI’s presence is recognized in Beira and Tete through the consortium CHEMO and through additional interventions. Activities held with local partners encompass rehabilitation, inclusive protection and education in emergencies among others.

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE POSITION

GLOBAL OBJECTIVE
In the frame of the 2016-2020 program strategy, consolidate the network among the principle donors in order to secure and develop the program operational scope and increase funding.
Under the supervision of the Program director ensure the smoothly coordination of activities related to the STRATOP improving the motivation, ownership and coordination among project teams towards common goals and achievements to facilitate the implementation of CPF

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
Responsibility 1: Support Operational Coordinator and Field Coordinator – Beira in planning, implementing, monitoring and reporting their activities, in line with HI policy & project cycle management tools
Responsibility 2: Develop new projects in existing or emerging sectors, in line with CPF orientations
Responsibility 3: Promote Handicap International’s approaches in relevant technical groups, coordination forums and communication channels so as to influence relevant stakeholders and decision-makers.
Responsibility 4: Contribute to the design and the implementation of a partnership and capacity-building strategy at programme level

PROFIL:

Qualification(s):
Degree in Political Science, Management School, Masters in Project Management.
Or equivalent professional experience

Experience:
– At least 4 years’ experience in team management
– At least 4 years’ experience in project design and coordination

Skills:
– Good analytical, synthesis and writing skills
– Flexibility, political acumen, relational skills for interacting with HI’s numerous associative and institutional partners and contacts at all levels.
– Very good command of written and spoken English, Portuguese and French or English.
– Proficient in the use of project programming, monitoring and evaluation tools (PSE).
– Knowledge of international donors

CONDITIONS:

• Starting date: ASAP
• Length of the contract: 3 months renewable
• Salary from 2900 € gross/month regarding the experience of the candidate
• Perdiem : 487,96 € net/month
• R&R : Level 1 (1 day of R&R per month)
• Paid holiday : 25 days per year
