The Heritage Fund is seeking applications for its COVID 19 Organizational Resiliency Program to assist local nonprofits with organizational needs identified in response to the COVID 19 pandemic. This competitive grants program will fund needs that ensure the long-term sustainability and resilience of local nonprofit organizations.

The COVID 19 pandemic has caused much disruption in Bartholomew County. Nonprofit organizations have worked tirelessly to provide immediate relief to those who need it most. Their response has demanded creativity, flexibility, and compassion. Bartholomew County nonprofits have responded in impressive ways.

Funding Information

The total funding for the program is $100,000. Eligible organizations are encouraged to submit requests up to $10,000 in funding to assist with organizational needs, including but not limited to:

Organizational Consulting:
Hiring a consultant to identify opportunities for virtual service delivery
Hiring a consultant to identify opportunities to enhance virtual work, employee management, and evaluation
Hiring a consultant to identify opportunities for organizational restructuring
Training for Adaptive Services:
Employee training for new virtual service delivery technology
Client training for new virtual service delivery technology
Diversity, equity, and inclusion training for staff and/or board of directors
Other organizational resiliency needs
Adaptive Technology and Facility Needs:
Hardware or software needs that ensure long-term virtual delivery of services to populations in need
Personal protective equipment for staff and clients to provide safe in-person services
Unexpected facility expenses incurred from COVID 19 health and safety guidelines, including protective screens, air filters, or cleaning services
Other organizational resiliency needs
Heritage Fund’s COVID 19 Organizational Resiliency Program will NOT fund:
Short-term technology needs or technology needs unrelated to COVID 19 adaptation
Employee salaries
Revenue or fundraising gaps
Immediate relief needs of service populations
These suggested funding areas were identified and prioritized through informal conversations, interviews and surveys with local nonprofit and community leaders over the last six months. Organizations are welcome to inquire about possible funding opportunities outside of these funding areas, so long as the initiative has been prompted by COVID 19 and focuses on long term organizational resilience.
Eligibility Criteria

All Bartholomew County nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply.
Application Process

Applications will be accepted and approved on a rolling basis through December 31, 2020. All
Bartholomew County nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply.
Organizations are welcome to inquire about possible funding opportunities outside of these funding areas, so long as the initiative has been prompted by COVID 19 and focuses on longterm organizational resilience.
