Purpose and Conditions

  • The Secretary of State for Culture calls for aid for projects to safeguard Intangible Cultural Heritage for the year 2024.
    • The purpose of the aid called is to carry out documentation, research, transmission, perpetuation, dissemination and promotion projects of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Priority attention will be given to projects that affect intangible cultural assets that have been expressly protected by Cultural Heritage regulations (declared with the category of Representative Manifestation of Intangible Cultural Heritage, Assets of Cultural Interest or similar) or that are included in the inventory systems, catalogs or atlases of Intangible Heritage managed by the competent administrations.
      • Aid is called for the following purposes:
        • To promote the safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Spain, especially that which is in a situation of danger or vulnerability.
        • Contribute to the protection and safeguarding of intangible cultural assets declared by the Cultural Heritage regulations of Spain.
        • Promote the transmission, dissemination and knowledge of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
        • Support projects that serve as a framework for action for a set of assets, or that propose solutions that contribute to improving the sustainability and management capabilities of Intangible Cultural Heritage at a general level.
        • Support those projects that help promote the social function of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
    • The actions that are susceptible to receiving aid under this call are, in accordance with the purposes stated above, the following:
      • Research and documentation activities of intangible cultural manifestations.
      • Studies on the areas of development of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Spain.
      • Preparation of management and safeguarding plans for intangible cultural assets in accordance with the criteria established in the National Plan for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
      • Activities or projects that enhance transmission to promote the perpetuation and knowledge of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
      • Organization of exhibitions, meetings, seminars and conferences on Intangible Cultural Heritage.
      • Preparation of publications for the dissemination and transmission of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
      • Any other activity that contributes to the safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
    • The activities that qualify for this call can be carried out from April 1, 2024 to December 31, 2025.

Funding Information

  • The financing of the aid referred to in the first point will be charged to the credits of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Fine Arts of the expense budget of the Ministry of Culture in force for the year 2024. The maximum total amount of this aid is E234,000, with distribution in the following concepts:
    • To autonomous communities (budget application 24.05.3376.756): E78,000
    • To local entities (budget application 24.05.3376.766): E78,000
    • To families and non-profit institutions (budget application 24.05.3376.786): E78,000.

  • Non-profit legal entities from the public or private sector may apply for this call for aid, which must be legally constituted on the end of the application submission period: town councils, councils, associations and other local entities, associations. and non-profit institutions, universities and entities dependent on autonomous communities.
  • Applicants must prove their capacity and suitability to carry out the activity for which aid is requested.
  • The requesting entities must contribute as their own financing to the project at least 10% of the total cost of the project declared in the report or, where appropriate, 10% of the cost of the reformulated project.
  • Applicants who are subject to any of the prohibitions in the terms provided for in article 13 of Law 38/2003 General of Subsidies, of November 17, nor those who are debtors for reimbursement of subsidies in the terms provided for in article 21 of the Regulations of the General Subsidies Law.
  • Entities that are not public administrations (non-profit entities) must take into account that the amounts received as a subsidy will be subject to what is regulated by Law 27/2014, of November 27, on Corporate Tax and Royal Decree 634/2015, of July 10, which approves the Corporate Tax Regulation.
  • Applicants, by the mere fact of requesting this aid, undertake to accept the content of this call and its result, as well as to comply with the obligations established in article 14 of the LGS.
