Maybe you are a young journalist or communications professional, and are looking for an opportunity to prove yourself and network. Maybe you are a social media wizard, or a university student looking to expand you horizons.

Maybe you care about the challenges we face trying to build a more sustainable, equitable global society, but don’t feel confident articulating your message. Or maybe you already have a strong voice and are up-to-date on environmental issues, but don’t have a platform to get your message out.

The Global Landscapes Forum is the largest and most influential side event to the UNFCCC COP, so apply for our training program and put yourself in the center of the action!

2015 is a historic year, especially for action on climate change, sustainability, and the future of our environment. With the new UNFCCC COP21 aiming to come to a binding, universal agreement on climate action this December in Paris, there is no better time to get involved, hone your communications skills, and make your voice heard!Eligibility Requirements:

• Young communicators age 18-35. Early career professionals, as well as university students or graduates with a degree in Journalism or Communications are encouraged to apply.
• Some experience writing stories or news pieces.
• Some experience with social media. If you are a champion tweeter, an Instagram genius, or are killer on any other platforms, let us know!

The Bootcamp:

• The boot camp will be held over the course of two days, December 3 & 4, in Paris, France. Selected social reporters will then attend both days of the Global Landscapes Forum on December 5 & 6.
• The boot camp will consist of two days of training on the professional use of social media for live reporting from conferences and events, blog writing and editing, and thematic breakout sessions.
• To align with GLF strategy of targeted engagement, each volunteer will be assigned to specific sessions of the forum from which to live tweet and write blogs. In the days of the boot camp before the forum we will focus on honing the skills you need to walk into your assigned session with confidence.

If you are selected to participate as a social reporter, you’ll get:

• Tips and tricks for strategic and efficient live reporting on prominent social media platforms.
• An introduction to different types of social media strategy and analysis in practice.
• Basic training on accurate reporting of environment and landscapes issues, correlating to the four themes of the forum.
• The opportunity to participate in breakout sessions, working closely with professional communicators, scientists, and youth leaders from different landscapes sectors and backgrounds.
• To have your writing read by landscapes.org’s 9000 visitors per month.
• The chance to meet and interview some of the most prominent people on the climate and development horizon (see our list of speakers for a preview of who you could be bumping shoulders with).
• The ability to grow your own personal social media and online presence before, during, and after the forum! We will support and promote our volunteers through our social media accounts, landscapes.org, and the accounts of GLF partners.
