Global Affairs Canada has launched a call for preliminary proposals for its program entitled “Innovation for Women’s Economic Empowerment in Ghana”.

Objectives

• Under this call, the preliminary proposal must contribute to the achievement of this ultimate outcome: Enhanced economic empowerment, well-being and inclusive economic growth for women in Ghana.
• The preliminary proposal must also contribute to at least one of the following intermediate outcomes:
  • Improved enabling environment and reduced gender-specific barriers for women’s participation in economic growth;
  • Enhanced access to decent work for women; and
  • Increased productivity, profitability and innovation of women-owned businesses.

Funding Information

The total amount of funding available under the Innovation for Women’s Economic Empowerment in Ghana call for preliminary proposals is $30 million over five years.

Eligibility Criteria

• Organization is not a sovereign entity (a government of a country) or a multilateral institution.
• Organization is legally incorporated in Canada or Ghana and they can provide proof of legal status.
• If organization is Canadian, they must provide a Canada Revenue Agency business number.
• If organization is Ghanaian, they must provide proof of registration through Ghana’s Registrar General’s Department.
• Organization can provide two financial statements dated within 30 months prior to the submission of the application.
• Organization can demonstrate a minimum of two years of experience managing a gender equality project by providing examples of past projects.
• Organization can demonstrate a minimum of two years of experience managing a development project with a total budget equal to or greater than the budget in proposal by providing examples of past projects.
