Deadline: 15-May-22

The Getty Images Inclusion Grants are open to photographers around the world with the aim of promoting greater diversity and inclusion within the photographic and media industries.

For this year’s program, Getty Images will partner with the organizations Women Photograph and Diversify Photo to award a cumulative eight grants of $5,000 each to photographers from a range of professional specialties, such as news, sport and entertainment.
Types
Women Photograph
These $5,000 grants will support photography projects either new or in-progress from visual journalists working in a documentary capacity. Seven grants are available, at least one of which will be earmarked for a nonbinary or transgender photographer.
Four grants, funded by Getty Images’ Inclusion Grants program, will be awarded with a specific concentration in subject matter or medium: one for a project with a news focus, one for a sports project, one for an arts & entertainment project, and one for a video or multimedia project. Three additional grants, supported by Nikon USA, will be open to work from any genre photographers will be asked to self-identify the subject matter or medium of their submission in the application.
Funding may be used to cover the hard costs of reporting, photographers’ creative fees, and any other expenses that support the production of new work. This grant is not meant to support the production of books, exhibitions, workshops, or other secondary materials.
Applicants are encouraged to submit a story, rather than singles, as part of the grant application. The images need not be related to the project proposal (but please specify in your application if the images are unrelated to your proposal).
These grants are open to women, nonbinary, and intersex documentary photographers of any nationality. Central to Women Photograph’s mission is to be inclusive of and support work from photographers who represent a diverse range of identities, geographies, and experiences. You do not need to be a member of Women Photograph to apply.
There is no fee to apply.
Diversify Photo
The Inclusion Grant will provide photographers from underrepresented communities funding to continue their personal projects that moves them further along their careers objectives.
Four $5,000 grants will be administered for portfolios or projects in one of four categories: News, Sports, Arts and Entertainment, and Video. The grants are meant to support photographers to complete projects or meet needs to further their photographic career.
This grant is open to photographers around the globe thanks to the support of Getty Images. The applications must however be received in English. The Inclusion Grant is being administered by Diversify Photo and Women Photograph. Applicants may apply to the Inclusion Grant through both organizations but may only win one grant.
