GEF Small Grants Program accepting Proposals from Moldovan NGOs and CSOs

The Global Environmental Facility (GEF) Small Grants Program (GSP) invites NGOs and CSOs to submit project proposals in the areas of interest of the program:
- Co-benefits of access to the low carbon energy system
- Innovative climate-smart agroecology
- Coalitions for the management of local and global chemicals
Small Grants Program (SGP) of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) provides grants of up to $ 50 000 non-governmental organizations and community organizations (NGO/CBO) countries developing to enable them to it addresses global environmental challenges while addressing the needs of sustainable development. The SGP motorcycle is “the action of the community with global impact!”.
GEF SGP operates in 125 countries. SGP Moldova started financing the projects in 2013. Since then, it has been successful in financing and providing technical support for more than 27 projects supported by grants. SGP is a corporate program of GEF, implemented by UNDP and UNOPS.
Objectives
The main objectives of the Small Grants Program are:
- Development at community level of strategies and implementation of technologies that could reduce environmental threats if they are replicated over time.
- Collecting lessons learned from community experience and initiating the exchange of successful strategies and innovations at community level between NGOs and community organizations, authorities, development assistance agencies, GEFs and other actors operating on a regional and global scale.
- Building partnerships and networks of stakeholders to support and strengthen national communities, NGOs and capacities to address global environmental issues and promote sustainable development.
- Ensuring the understanding and application of conservation and sustainable development strategies and projects geared towards protecting the environment globally by communities and other key stakeholders.
Applications submitted by two (2) or more applicants will be rejected if there are any One of the following items was found:
- They will have at least one common controlling partner, director, and shareholder.
- One of them receives or received any direct or indirect subsidy from the other/others.
- They have the same legal representative in this Call for Proposals (KZ).
- They are connected to each other, directly or through a common third partner, which allows them access information about the application or influence the application or find out about applications of others participants of this competition.
- They are subcontractors in each other’s proposals or subcontractor in one the application itself submits another application, where it acts as a leading performer.
- An expert declared in the team of one of the participants is involved in more than one application, received in this competition. This condition does not apply to subcontractors that maybe included in more than one application.
- NGOs that participate in the performance of the tasks of state organizations under contracts prisoners between them will be rejected.
