FYA’s Youth Action Project Grant Scheme (YAPGS) – Australia

The Australian Government Department of Health in partnership with the Foundation for Young Australians (FYA) is seeking applications for its Youth Action Project Grant Scheme (YAPGS).

1000 new grants and donors
The YAPGS will consider and support both new and existing projects responding to the issues young people are facing at this time. It will support projects that:

Have a particular focus on employment transportation, mental health, and the impacts of COVID-19 and the Australian bushfires on young people.
Operate as social enterprises, are issue based, community services, arts, sports, or health interventions.
Focus both on the immediate needs of young people during this time of crisis and those that seek to secure their long term well-being and prosperity.
Back young people experiencing the most hardship during this time; that includes those that are disproportionately affected due to their race, disability, education, sexuality, gender, financial standing, and mental well-being or otherwise.
Funding Information

Applicants must be seeking funds of between $5,000 and $20,000. A total of up to $950,00 (inc. GST) will be allocated.

YAPGS is open to both individuals and organisations with two kinds of projects to be supported:

New projects that recognise and uniquely respond to the hardship young people are facing now and will face in the future.
Existing projects that provide a valuable on-going service to young people, which require additional funding to adapt or continue that work given the impact of the current environment.
Successful recipients will be required to:

Attend two online capacity building summits on January 22 and June 30, 2021. They will also be provided access to an online community, weekly skill-based workshops, and storytelling opportunities where available.
Submit a brief report summarising how the funds were spent and the impact achieved at the project’s conclusion. FYA will provide a template to support this.
