The Australian High Commission in Kiribati is seeking applications for its 2019-20 Direct Aid Program (DAP), which is a flexible small grants program (up to $20,000 per grant) administered by the Australian High Commission. It aims to support small-scale sustainable development projects and activities that involve local communities. Where possible, community members should participate in the design, development and implementation of the project

The Direct Aid Program (DAP) is a community development program funded by the Australian Government. The program aims to support projects with a strong development focus that complement Australia’s broader aid program to Kiribati.

Criteria

  • I-Kiribati local community and non-government organisations (NGOs) are eligible to apply
  • DAP applications are assessed according to the following criteria:
    • Strength of the proposal in addressing one or more of the priorities listed above
    • Degree of benefit to the community
    • Capacity of the community or NGO to deliver the project on time and on budget
    • Sustainability of the project

Projects that involve the following are not eligible:
