Organizational SettingThe main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by an FAO representatives, is to assistant governments to  develop policies , programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.

The FAO Representation in South Sudan is organizes in three main units: programme, Operations and administration. The current portfolio of projects in South Sudan includes activities related to agriculture (crop), livestock, Fisheries, Natural Resource management, food information systems is implemented with humanitarian, transitional and development funding. The incumbent will contribute to the country’s programme and portfolio as foreseen in the project he/she will coordinate and be assigned.
Reporting LinesReports operationally to the Head of field office and technically to the Head of M&E unit in Juba.

Technical FocusTake part in FAO Rapid Response Mechanism (RRM) missions in case of humanitarian crises in the state
Participate in Food Security and Livelihood Cluster meetings at State or County level as appropriate and support the Head of Field Office as needed in the cluster coordination activities;
Tasks and responsibilities In collaborate with IPs/Service Providers/ FAO direct implementation monitor selection of beneficiaries to ensure that it is done according to the criteria indicated in the Letter of Agreement (LoA) / FAO direct implementation plan;

· Verify beneficiary registration lists provided by the IP/Service Provider / FAO direct implementation for accuracy and completeness and share them with respective project managers, IM team and M&E Team;
· Prepare regular updates (frequency depending on period and activity) on project activity delivery including input distribution within the state
· Participate in the planning, organizing and execution of post-distribution monitoring, post-harvest assessment and results assessment surveys and IPC analysis using standardized tools and methodologies developed by the M&E team;
· Support project Managers in organization and conduct of baseline survey, M&E/Learning mission, Project Reviews, Terminal Evaluations;
· Collaborate with the implementing partners  and FAO direct distributing livelihood kits in the target areas to map out geographical areas covered and identify gaps;
· Support monitoring and reporting of all activities undertaken by the service providers outlined in the Letter of Agreement (development and emergency projects) in the respective States;
· Support in the development, updating and maintaining livelihoods kit distribution database, disaggregated by gender, beneficiary category, service providers and target locations;
· Support in following up with service providers  for timely implementation and submission of progress and final reports;
· Support the service providers / FAO direct implementation in undertaking post distribution monitoring taking a sample of targeted households;
· Assist in providing field level technical backstopping to service providers and beneficiaries;
· Monitor and report on crops, livestock, fishery, water and pasture condition, disease situation in various locations visited;.
· Perform any other duties as assigned.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements   Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in agriculture/food security/rural economy/rural development or related field, with graduate qualifications preferred.
At least Two year of experience in data collection activities (survey, assessment, etc.).Fluency in written and spoken English.A South Sudan National.
