Organizational Setting
 The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist Governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food and nutrition security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors, and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.
The incumbent will contribute to the country’s Support Services Team especially the Logistics unit.
Reporting Lines
 The incumbent will work under the day-to-day supervision of the Logistics Specialist, and overall Supervision of the Deputy FAO Representative collaborate with all the other units in FAO South Sudan, and consult with the relevant Technical Units at FAO headquarters, RAF and SFE, and close collaboration with relevant Ministries of the Government of South Sudan and partners
Technical Focus
The incumbent will be responsible for Implementing, updating the Distribution Plan timely and effectively, Prepare the transportation services/plans, and ensure the information flow is shared with all relevant Units and offices.
Tasks and responsibilities
 Coordinate logistics activities with procurement, finance, human resources, policy and other substantive units. Develops and implements FAO logistics support policy, procedures and methodologies to the common benefit of all functional units.
Controlling the data and sharing it with relevant Units.
Coordinate logistics operations with other UN agencies, UNIMSS and other organizations in South Sudan.
 Do the technical evaluation and verification for all logistic orders.
Coordinate the distribution plan for FAO Goods (Requestors, PM, Programme, Operations and Partners).
Strengthen the capacity of the logistics unit to effectively and efficiently deliver the FAO South Sudan Emergency and Development Programe
Manage logistics contracts and LTAs like transport, Clearing and forwarding and freight
Companies, vehicles, insurances and others contracts.
 Support the logistics teams in Juba and all around the country ensuring that the entry and exit of goods from the FAO warehouses are properly controlled and recorded
Ensure that fuel usage by vehicles, generators, individual users and contingents are monitored and investigate any major anomalies or inconsistent fuel consumption Provide assistance on proper warehousing management.
Build the capacity of national staff for the improvement of the expendable and non-expendable equipment tracking system, procedures for fleet and warehouse management, including updating the tracking tables.
Immediate report any loss or damage to FAOR that could affect FAO items, oversee the issuance of UNFAOSS Owned Equipment and UNFAO services provided to units which should have been self-sustained, and reflect as necessary in verification reports for financial reimbursement on time.
Monitor field logistic operations for the receipt and distribution of agricultural, livestock and fisheries inputs and other assets procured under various FAO projects/programmes in South Sudan.
Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
 Advanced University degree (for COF.REG)/ University Degree (for PSA.SBS) in one of the following fields: Logistics, supply chain, Procurement, finance, Business Administration or any related field. Advanced Degree will be an added advantage
At least Four years of work experience in management or administration of the  supply chain management
Working knowledge of English and limited knowledge of one of the other FAO languages (French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Russian) for COF.REG. Working knowledge of English for PSA.SBS
