European Commission seeking Proposals to enhance Non state Actors’ Engagement in Vietnam

The European Commission (EC) is seeking proposals to enhance non state actors’ engagement as actors of governance and development processes in Vietnam.

The specific objective of this call for proposals engaging on ESG principles in line with international: Local non-state actors are increasingly standards on human rights and environmental due diligence.

The output to be delivered is: Strengthened capacity of local NSAs to engage in policy dialogue at national and local level and to implement and monitor EU and national development plans and policies on ESG.

Funding Information
  • The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is EUR 4 899 000.
    • minimum amount: EUR 500 000
    • maximum amount: EUR 1 000 000
Duration
  • The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 36 months nor exceed 48 months.
Location
  • Actions must take place in Viet Nam.
Eligible Activities
  • Activities can include, but are not limited to:
    • Enabling NSAs’ participation in and contribution to policy dialogue and decision-making processes at all levels;
    • Supporting technical research, analysis and advocacy capacity;
    • Capacity building of NSA, local small producer communities, SME and local authorities, enabling them to effectively monitor and enforce compliance with ESG and due diligence requirements;
    • Support multi-stakeholder initiatives to foster dialogue and promote ESG and sustainable trade
    • Innovative approaches, technical assistance and tools to advance ESG and due diligence practices.
Eligibility Criteria
  • In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
    • be a legal person and
    • be non-profit-making and
    • be Civil Society Organisation and
    • be established in a Member State of the European Union or in Viet Nam, and
    • be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
  • International organisations are not eligible under this call for proposals.
  • At least one co-applicant must be involved in the action.
    • Co-applicants participate in designing and implementing the action, and the costs they incur are eligible in the same way as those incurred by the lead applicant.
