The Europe Foundation (EPF) has announced a call for proposals aimed at mobilizing local communities in sustainable use of environmental resources, engaging them in sustainable economic development and/or promoting participatory civic monitoring and advocacy of the environmental public policy making.

The purpose of the grant competition is to mobilize and involve citizens in the direction of Environmental Projects Implementation and government initiatives, economic or business activities through monitoring.

Funding Information
The budget of the majority is 50,000-60,000 GEL.
Duration

The minimum duration of the project should be 8 and the maximum duration should be 12 months (the estimated start of the project is September 2020 October).
Directions
The competition includes two directions. Applicants can choose the direction in which they want to present the project.

Direction I: Mobilization of local communities of natural resources In rational and sustainable use and sustainable economic development to ensure participation
Project applications may include the following:
Support for clean, cost-effective technologies and practices that Have minimal impact on the environment (alternative energy Use, To the environment Benevolent agricultural Use of technology, etc.
Informing communities about the specifics of specific traditional activities on impact and the introduction of alternative practices; Also, the environment Awareness of specific threats to Raise the level and increase the capabilities of these threats (e.g. Forest fire, landslide, avalanche, etc.) in terms of management.
Mobilize local communities with important environmental concerns to solve problems;
Encourage economic development opportunities that are environmentally friendly Focused on maintenance.
Direction II: To Improve Environmental Governance, Civil monitoring and advocacy initiatives to support CSOs – entities By promoting collaboration between media outlets
Project applications may include the following:
Public or commercial projects that pose a risk to the environment monitoring and advocating for appropriate changes;
Targeted media campaigns, acute environmental problems and their impact on local communities.
Obligations under the Association Agreement with the European Union Monitoring;
Other topical actions that are in line with the goals and objectives of the competition Serves to achieve efficiency.
Projects in both directions should include any priority environmental area such as air, water and soil pollution, biodiversity conservation, rational use of forest resources, prevention of natural disasters, etc. Projects can be any geographically oriented and specific ecosystem if meet the needs of the community.
Eligibility Criteria

Applications can be submitted by SSOs registered and operating in Georgia, as well as by coalitions and networks of local SSOs, community groups and media outlets. Media outlets can only participate in the competition in collaboration with qualified SSOs.
If the organization operating in Tbilisi is a project to be implemented in the region, advantage will be awarded for cooperation existence on the place valid with the organization.
Political parties and organizations that have any incompatibility with the goals and objectives of the project are not eligible to participate in the competition.
They should not be involved in the implementation of the project (as part of the grant paid employees): public servants, political parties and representatives of organizations, employees of the public broadcaster or other persons who have any interest in the project goals and objectives they have incompatibility.
