ERT/GYLA Call for Applications: Addressing Discrimination and Inequality

The Equal Rights Trust (ERT), an independent international organization with expertise in enhancing equality and combating discrimination, in partnership with the Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association (GYLA), are implementing a project funded by the European Union to improve the implementation of selected UN and ILO Conventions in Georgia.

The Call for Applications aims to support implementation of UN and ILO conventions in Georgia, addressed against discrimination and inequality.

Program Lots

The program is divided in to three lots:

  • Lot 1: Monitoring Grants: Conduct monitoring of one or more UN/ILO convention implementation in Georgia and provide evidence-based recommendations for the improvement of the environment in Georgia in terms of equal access and non-discrimination.
  • Lot 2: Advocacy Grants: Conduct advocacy to promote implementation of UN/ILO conventions in Georgia.
  • Lot 3: Small Grants: Conduct small-scale pilot initiatives for testing new approaches or laying grounds for advocacy or future anti-discrimination and equality-oriented activities (interviews with victims, documentaries, database or networking activities, etc.).

Priority Issues

The key directions of the program are equality and non-discrimination in the following areas:

  • Gender and sexual-orientation-based discrimination;
  • Child labor;
  • Labor rights and conditions;
  • Rights of the persons with disability;
  • Discrimination on the basis of religion, ethnicity, political or trade union affiliation.

Amount of Grants

Each applicant may submit only one application for only one of the below lots:

  • Lot 1: Monitoring Grants
    • About 8 000 – 15 000 EUR per grant;
  • Lot 2: Advocacy Grants
    • About 8 000 – 15 000 EUR per grant;
  • Lot 3: Small Grants
    • About 1000-5000 EUR per grant.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Any organization, registered in Georgia (except the occupied territories of Georgia), regardless of the organizational experience and form (except profit-making commercial companies) is eligible for participating in this Call for Proposals, given the following preconditions:
  • The organization must not have a debt or face liquidation procedures;
  • The organization must not be associated with any of the criminal groups or activities;
  • The organization must fully comply with the legislation of Georgia.
