Job description

Presentation:

International mining and metallurgical group, ERAMET is one of the leaders of his markets.

Eramet is divided in three business unit, all over the world:

  • Producer of parts and semi-products in high performing special steels and alloys (France, Spain, Sweden, India, China)
  • Integrated nickel producer (New-Caledonia and Indonesia)
  • Integrated manganese (Gabon, Norway, United-States), Lithium (Argentina), Mineral sands producer: ilmenite and zircon (Senegal)

Context:

In 2014, Eramet decided to exploit a mineral sand mine, in Senegal, via a joint-venture with the Australian Mineral Deposits Limited. This mine, named « Grande Côte Operations » (GCO), aims at becoming a major integrated actor in mineral sands production.

In June 2018, Eramet integrally bought Grande Côte Operations.  In that context, Eramet wants to integrate his 730 new collaborators, to his culture and ambitions.

GCO exploits mainly below described products:

  • Ilmenite turned into titanium dioxide slag, by TTI plant in Norway. That slag is used for pigments and high purity pig iron;
  • Zircon used by the ceramics market

Missions

This integration goes through Eramet processes adoption and local development.

You will support the Human Resources Department of Grande Cote Operation (GCO) in Senegal on the following topics:

  • Annual performance
  • Mid-Year performance
  • People Review
  • Strategic Workforce (Succession planning)
  • Training related topics (Training plan elaboration, Implementation of Training management system)
  • Recruitment (Help to recruit and develop Senegalese talents, in a high competitive context (new companies, like oil & gas, arriving on the market)
  • HR Administration
  • Support the deployment of the new time management process
  • Eramet Policy deployment
  • Human Resources Information System deployment (Atlas Project)
  • All HR related projects (Talent development)

In order for you to be able work on these subjects, your VIE will last 12 months at least.

You will be based on the mining site of Diogo (Senegal) which is located at 135 km from Dakar.

You’ll have your own room on the living camp equipped with a fridge, TV and free Wifi access. Housekeeping and an access to the canteen at the camp as well as all the amenities available (well-equipped gymnasium, a football field, a tennis and basketball court, a bar with playroom etc.)

Job requirements

Education and Experience:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work autonomously and/or in team
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Fluent in English & French
  • Able to work in multicultural environment and with different cultures: Senegalese, Australians, Canadians, South Africans, and French
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Reminder concerning VIE eligibility conditions:

  • To be between 18 and 28 years (maximum: departure the day of your 29th birthday)
  • To be of European Nationality (States members of the European Economic Area, eg the 28 States of the European Union, Norway, Island and Lichtenstein) or from Monaco
