Poste proposé : Mining Planning Engineer

This is the entry level position of Mining Planning Engineer, pending on the capabilities the role can have less than stated responsibilities.

• To ensure the mining operation delivers ore to the ROM pad for processing at budgeted tonnes, grade and cost;
• To produce Daily/weekly /Monthly plan and schedules, with a view to constant improvement in both quality and costs;
•  Fortnightly production schedules on a rolling weekly basis to meet production objectives, plans and forecasts;
• Pit and dump designs/layout/sequencing;
• Trend analysis: fuel, truck factor, haulage distances, penetration rates, explosive consumption, etc…
• To achieve the above objectives with due consideration to safety, the environment, statutory obligations and the efficient management of the company’s assets and human resources
• Production of all weekly and monthly and reports;
• Compilation of all mining data for budgeting and financial purposes;
• Monitor all paperwork and ensure the relevance and necessity of the data being collected.
• To support the Senior Mining Engineer in he’s task.

Responsabilities:

Weekly/Monthly and Daily schedule

• Scheduling using software such as spreadsheets, Minesched to ensure practical schedules areproduced for production and forecasting purposes.

Mine Planning

• Coordinate the weekly pre-planning meeting;
• Produce the weekly plan and schedule;

Production Reporting

• Responsible to ensure daily production across all the mining activities is captured and reported in a timely manner. This also includes validating and checking data to ensure its integrity.
• Responsible in gathering data for the weekly and monthly reports.
• Assist in preparing data for generation of budgets.

Mine Design

• Pit, waste dump, stockpile and road designs/layout under the supervision of the Senior Mining Engineer using Vulcan;

 Monitoring

• Pit dewatering

Data collection and interpretation

• Penetration rate, fuel consumptions, explosive consumption, etc…

Systems

• Contribute toward good communication within the Mining Department and other departments by developing and maintaining a team environment, which is conducive to two-way communication.
• Contribute towards the maintenance of the image of a professional Service Department that is available to provide all services/ duties requested by other Departments.
• Provide assistance to other members of the Mining Department when requested.
• Propose work practice improvement and quality control

Information

• Ensure the production of accurate and timely information for the site customers in compliance with instructions/ procedures for assigned tasks.

Profil recherché pour le poste : Mining Planning Engineer

Requirements:

• Mining Engineering degree
• Minimum of ten (02) year experience in an operating open pit mine.
• Strong communication skills, ability to speak and write in English
• Strong interpersonnel skills
• Ability to liaise and promote liaison between maintenance, mining and contracting personnel
• Valid Driving License 3
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ponctuel
• Neat/tidy paperwork
• Maintenance of safe working environment practices
• Ability to think laterally
• Willingness to learn
• Resilience and resourcefulness
• Relevant experience:
• High level of computer skills and knowledge of MS Office Suite, CAD software, etc.…
• Mine planning software Minesched.surpac,Vulcan…..
