Poste proposé : Senior Grade Control Resource Geologist

Reporting to the Chief Mine Geologist the Senior Mine Geologist – Projects, Modeling & Evaluation is acting as a key technical resource within the Geology department providing guidance and support to the Mine Projects Geologists and Production Geologists in all aspects of the Sabodala – Massawa Grade Control process.

Responsabilities:

Systems

Contribute toward good communication within the Mining Department and other departments by developing and maintaining a team environment, which is conducive to two-way communication
Contribute towards the maintenance of the image of a professional Service Department that is available to provide all services/ duties requested by other Departments.
Provide assistance to other members of the Mining Department when requested.
Keep Implementing new technical improvements or procedures.
Work with the Centric Database Supervisor to maintain the geology and mining production data integrity .

Grade Definition

Good understanding of the regional and mine-scale interpreted geology at Sabodala-Massawa Project.
Responsible of the OPEX/CAPEX RC drilling planning and cost estimation (short term, medium term, long term).
Oversee all the drilling and sampling activities and make sure Geology staff are following all the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as per Endeavour standards.
Conduct, in conjunction with the Centric Database Supervisor extensive QA/QC monitoring to ensure drilling information and assays results are accurate and validated.

Grade Control resource modelling and Grade estimation

Updating, Creating and manipulating wireframes from Exploration and Grade Control drilling information.
Construct block models by use of geological, structural and mineralogical information required for GC resource estimation.
Complete geostatistical analysis of combined exploration and Grade Control data including statistical and spatial correlation studies.
Cross Validation of generated GC resource models (block models against drill holes sections and against drill holes composite data) and other validation methods and reporting that may be required.
Ensure optimal ore blocks outlines at optimal grade are designed from the validated GC resource models by the Projects Geologists or the Production Geologists to recover the maximum gold metal content during mining.

Ore Mining Control & Ore Reconciliation

Management of ore bodies mining (dip & dip directions).
Responsible of monitoring the dilution and ore loss during the mining activities.
Keep updating the GC resource model densities using the information from the field ores material classification (lithology – oxide vs. fresh during mining.
Oversee the monthly Pit by Pit reconciliation on Grade Control models against Resource/Reserve models and the Mill (Reconciliation from orebody to gold metal production).
Ensure all ore movement are reconciled for quarterly, yearly and L.O.M reporting.

Projects work

Collaborate with the Exploration team and liaise with internal and external mineral resource consultants to coordinate all aspects of the geological resource, reserve processes at the Sabodala – Massawa Project.
Support the Chief Geologist on Geology Budget/Forecast preparation.
Assist the Chief Geologist for the Preparation of Request for Proposals (RFPs), Authorisations for Expenditure (AFEs), and scoping details for contract documents.
Ensure actual costs (drilling, sampling, training, software licenses) align well with the Geology Budget/Forecast.
Identify within the Geology section the knowledge and skills need and develop a staff training and development plan.
Conduct an effective coaching and mentoring programs for all Projects Geologists with documented records.

Profil recherché pour le poste : Senior Grade Control Resource Geologist

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree with post graduate qualification in Geology, Geologic Engineering, or an equivalent.
A minimum of ten (10) years working experience in the mining sector as a Geology professional.
A minimum of five (05) years practical experience in advanced Linear Geostatistics , 3D orebody modelling and multielement / geometallurgical estimation and domaining , experience in leapfrog would be advantageous .
Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
Proficient with Centric Mining System (Mine Geology & Mine production Database software) would be advantageous.
A high level of computer literacy with specialized mining software package such as Maptek Vulcan (highly recommended); Surpac or Datamine.
Effective decision making and problem-solving skills.
Effective organizational and time management skills.
Must have strong communication skills in French, ability to speak and write in English.
Must have strong interpersonal skills.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with others in a team environment.
Experience working in multicultural environment
