Poste proposé : Warehouse Inventory Superintendent

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Warehouse Inventory Superintendent will act as the interface between Procurement and Warehouse to control the day-to-day operations of the warehouse. He is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, managing, and evaluating the inventory management activities and budget of warehouses.

Responsibilities:

Warehouse Operations:

  • Oversee the site warehouse operation including logistics, freight, receipts, returns, credits and purchasing for all equipment and supplies coming into the operation.
  • Supervise the Warehouse team for unloading freight deliveries, checking / receipting all freight, processing receipts in Endeavour’s ERP (Ellipse) and reconciling / processing freight invoices.
  • Oversee cataloguing and stock balances ensuring they are set up in the ERP.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, review inventory reports/targets on a monthly basis and liaise with the Supply Chain Team as required to maintain inventory at cost efficient and effective levels.
  • Ensure all recommended order quantities and min/max levels have been reviewed on a daily basis, to allow for timely purchase order generation.
  • Oversee the management of consignment stock, ensuring that Endeavour’s standard business processes are adhered to.
  • In accordance with SCM requirements, assist to develop, review and dispose of aged/inactive inventories.  Ensure that all goods are receipted and collected by the appropriate area within 24 hours of delivery to the site.
  • Ensure all receipt discrepancies (e.g. transport provider, incorrect parts, damaged goods etc.) are recorded and reported with 24 hours of delivery to the site.
  • Coordinate and implement cyclical stocktaking activities and undertake random statistical stocktaking reviews in accordance with SCM policy.
  • Oversee the management of bulk commodities and fuel, ensuring all issuing and receiving is accurate and deliveries are timely.
  • Facilitate the onsite review of requisitioning ordering quantity mismatch reports on a daily basis.

Inventory Control:

  • Monitor inventory levels and inventory movement using manual and computerized inventory systems.
  • Lead internal and third-party inventory audits.
  • Effectively control all incoming and outgoing items to/from the warehouse.
  • Ensure that inventory changes are documented in a manner that provides an audit trail of activities.
  • Review compiled inventory reports (quantity, type and value of materials, and equipment and stock on hand).
  • Liaise with Site Supply officers to action warehouse transfers to fulfil replenishment demands.
  • Confer with other department heads and staff to coordinate inventory management activities.
  • Provide input to develop and communicate inventory management policies and procedures.
  • Review and report on key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the inventory management operations.
  • Conduct investigations into inventory management incidents in order to verify and resolve complaints.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and ensure discrepancies are properly documented.
  • Identify obsolete items that can be pulled from inventory. Update and transact catalogue information data sets in the ERP system to reflect the removal or change in attributes. Dispose of obsoleted parts in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all Catalogue Item Requests for new additions or increases to inventory levels are thoroughly reviewed for completeness before establishing re-order settings.
  • Perform inventory reviews of inactive inventory to ensure obsolete and surplus materials are identified and disposed of in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Plan and analyse inventory incorporating trends, seasonality, forecasts, and random variation when monitoring stock levels.
  • Coach, train, manage, and appraise the performance of inventory management personnel.
  • Ensure inventory stock adjustments are input in a timely manner and evaluate the impact on stock replenishment by processing write-on / off’s.

Staff Development:

  • Provide supervision, guidance, coaching and technical assistance and support to the team.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the team to identify areas requiring improvement and implement training and coaching measures to ensure employees receive sufficient training enabling them to perform their duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Promote and develop the skills of subordinates through the transfer of technology and skill development through on-thejob training programs.
  • Conduct formal career development discussions with employees and identify development opportunities and programs that assist with defining future career progression possibilities.
  • Encourage and facilitate effective and supportive communication between all team members and related departments

Safety Management:

  • Demonstrate personal commitment in regard to safety and environmental and Social Responsibility practices.
  • Ensure every person within team is fit for work.
  • Ensure that agreed procedures, safeguards and controls are applied and used.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted safely and in accordance with Company standards and procedures Ensure hazard management plans are observed.
  • Keep statutory and internal reporting as required

Profil recherché pour le poste : Warehouse Inventory Superintendent

Requirements:

  • Minimum Master or Bac+5 in Supply Chain Management, Warehousing, Inventory, Materials Management, Technical, Business Management or equivalent. Relevant experience:
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a Warehouse operations role in a remote mining environment. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory level role.
  • Strong communication, organizational and personnel skills, strong analytical capabilities, sound business sense, advanced documentation skills with high attention to detail.
  • French / English language skills essential
  • Proficient in ERP systems and excellent knowledge of Excel
  • Preference for west African experience
  • Experience of working effectively in a senior management team environment
  • Experience working in multicultural environment
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation and build effective relationships and network
  • Demonstrates strong conceptual skills, and be capable of developing lateral practical solutions
  • Ability to respond to a changing work environment
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at the same time
  • A reputation for integrity and ethics
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
