The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Mexico is currently inviting applicants for its 2020 Small-scale Development Project Program.

The focus of the projects must correspond to the Strategy for Development Cooperation Abroad of the Czech Republic for the years 2018 – 2030. The approaches are:

Democratic administration of public affairs;
Sustainable management with natural resources;
Economic transformation and growth (renewable energy resources, workers rights,…);
Agriculture and field development;
Inclusive social development (education, health, social inclusion,…)

The project to be carried out in 2020 should be aimed at supporting development activities through the supply of materials or equipment, training, financial support to the activities of local authorities, capacity building and participation in larger projects (including international projects).

The Czech financial contribution of development aid per project must not exceed 500,000 CZK (approximately USD 21,000), co-financing by other donors or by the director is welcome. The aggregate part of the trip must not exceed 25% of the amount financed by the Czech part; it is not allowed to finance the personal costs of the filmmaker.

Project Implementation

Project implementation can begin after the signing of the contract with the Embassy in March 2020 and must be completed no later than October 31, 2020.

Eligibility Criteria

Relevant for: Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
To the relevant legal entities (NGOs, non-governmental health care organizations, educational, health, social and cultural organizations, cooperatives or communities) the possibility of financing their “Small-scale Local Projects Program” projects provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.

How to Apply

Applicants must download the Identification Form of the “Small Scale Local Development Project”, which should be filled out in English, stamped, signed and delivered on paper and in a scanned copy to the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Mexico.
