Summary:The work schedule for this position is: Full Time 40  hours per week
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or his/her candidacy may end.
Supervisory Position:No Relocation Expenses Reimbursed: No
Dutiesincumbent provides a broad range of services of radio and telephone systems to all Embassy users, including install, troubleshoot, maintain, and wire new and existing telephone and radio networks, site surveys, operational training and assistance. Maintain an accurate inventory database of Embassy’s communication equipment and devices. Monitor supplies and spare parts in stock and and advise when procurement is needed. Provide assistance in maintaining Embassy’s radio network and troubleshooting and installing CAT 5/6, fiber optic as well as coaxial communications cables.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:EXPERIENCE:  Minimum of two years work experience in telecommunication operations, installations, and maintenance.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:  Thorough knowledge of job-related safety practices and procedures, installation, maintenance, operation, testing, troubleshooting, repair procedures for radio and telephone systems, and high speed data circuits and equipment to be serviced. Job related knowledge of the host country, and international telephone and telecommunication standards and practice 
Education Requirements:College or University studies (Associated or college degree related to Telecommunication is required).
Evaluations:LANGUAGE:  Mandatory: Level 3 English and Level 4 French are required. This may be tested.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES Optional: Must have a valid driver license and pass Embassy driving test. Must be able to work with a minimum supervision under stressful conditions. Must be able to read and interpret technical internal communications. Must be able to express in English language technical and work-related communications in a non-technical, clear, precise, and understandable manner. Driving test will be given.

Benefits:Agency Benefits:Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Niamey, Niger may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
