DutiesThe newsletter editor writes, edits, submits and disperses in final form for publication the CLO monthly newsletter. S/he will also attend a weekly CLO team meeting in the Community Liaison Office. The newsletter editor also assists the CLO with administrative duties and events. The editor, in collaboration with the CLO, will also maintain and update/create content for the Embassy CLO SharePoint site. Assists CLO in providing information on recreational, housing, schools and employment opportunities to family members. Backs up CLO in CLO absence. Position is part-time up to 20 hours per week.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years’ experience in office, managerial, or administrative work is required. Minimum 1-year professional experience in desktop publishing (or similar creative publishing experience). Minimum one year proven work in customer service environment.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Good knowledge of Foreign Service and Niamey/Niger living, Nigerien culture and the basic structure/function of the Embassy and various USG agencies is helpful. Good understanding of administrative processes is required. Good knowledge of word processing and publishing in the Microsoft Office Suite (Publisher) is required.
Education Requirements:Completion of Secondary School or Local Mandatory Schooling and received high school diploma
Evaluations:LANGUAGE: English (fluent) (Speaking/Reading/Writing) is required.
French (limited Knowledge) (Speaking/Reading/Writing) is required
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Customer service skills are essential.
Ability to be flexible and maintain a good sense of humour is required.
Ability to solve problems is required. Ability to multi-task.
Time management skills are required. Excellent organizational skills are required.
Strong writing skills are essential. Ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite- Publisher.

Benefits:Agency Benefits:Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Niamey, Niger may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
