DutiesThe AEFM Human Resources Assistant position is part of the Human Resources Office, U.S. Embassy in Niamey. Incumbent manages Post’s recruitment/hiring/training/evaluation (all aspects) of the Family Member (EFM) employment program at Post to include both FMA and EPAP appointments. Incumbent drafts all correspondence such as emails, letters and cables, etc. related to this Program and works directly with AF-EX/HR regarding appointments and terminations. Incumbent assists the R/HRO, MO and Front Office with special HR-related projects as requested. Incumbent also provides day-to-day assistance to USDH personnel as needed or as requested by the R/HRO. In the absence of the R/HRO, provides day-to-day guidance to the six (6) LE Staff located in the HR Office as well as the two (2) language instructors. This position is under the supervision of the R/HRO. The HR Office is a service provider for Department of State, USAID, CDC, Department of Defense, Department of Justice, and the Marines.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years work experience in a Human Resources, Administrative office work, teaching, or project management setting is required.  
JOB KNOWLEDGE:  Optional: Some knowledge of U.S. federal employment system, the Privacy Act and Customer Service methods.

Education Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Liberal Arts, or Business Administration is required.
Evaluations:LANGUAGE: 
 Mandatory:  Level IV (fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing in English. This maybe tested.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES Optional:
 Strong interpersonal relationships at all levels within the Mission.  Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multitask and work under stress. Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to develop short and long-range work plans and goals. Effective conflict resolution skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point) is required

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Niamey, Niger may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
