Summary: The work schedule for this position is: Full Time 40 hours per week.
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or his/her candidacy may end.

DutiesBasic functions of this position are to perform routine driving as directed by the Marine Security Guard Detachment of U.S. government owned passenger vehicles for the American Embassy located in Niamey, Niger.
1.Transports passengers and/or cargo within the city limits of Niamey and surrounding area. 
2. Completes necessary trip ticket information and obtains signature of responsible passenger.Completes accident reports as necessary
3. Checks/ verifies the assigned for proper gasoline levels, functioning equipment/lighting, and visual inspection for proper tire inflation and any exterior damages before and after usage. 
4. Maintains the cleanliness of the assigned vehicle’s interior and exterior requesting necessary materials as from the Motor Pool Supervisor. 
5. Minor vehicle maintenance such as tire changes and adding fluids if necessary. 
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:EXPERIENCE: Two years professional experience as a driver is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:  Optional: Must know local/regional traffic laws and be familiar with area traffic patterns. Must be familiar with proper motor vehicle maintenance such as how to check fluid levels, tire pressures, and safety checks. 
Education Requirements:Completion of elementary school (CFEPD is required).
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: Level III (good working knowledge) (speaking/reading/writing) French; Level II (limited knowledge) (speaking/reading/writing) English. This may be tested.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES Optional: Must possess a valid local driver’s license, a safe driving record, and understand operation and controls of the appropriate operated vehicle. Driving test will be given.

Benefits:Agency Benefits:Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Niamey, Niger may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
