We are food processor setting up a new milk powder dry blending plant in Dakar, Senegal. We are looking for a plant operator to run and manage the conveyors, ribbon blender and packaging machine.
Role
Responsible for operating the machinery used in dry blending and packaging and conducting routine inspection and preventive equipment maintenance. Maintain and troubleshoot equipment to ensure smooth packaging operations.
Starting up and stopping the machine as necessary, including refilling of packaging material.
Ensuring the correct packaging is used for specific product ranges and that packaging is done in line with the company standards.
Maintain a clean and safe workspace, and maintaining proper PPE and to follow safety measures.
Inspecting final products.
To perform operations like cleaning of packaging equipment, documentation of area, area clearance, line clearance, Status board update.
Performing routine checks to ensure that the machine is in an operable state.
unskilled/skilled labor management in handling the raw material for per-processing work.
To follow Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) during entry and exit to plant.
To preserve the change parts in good condition and check periodically
Responsible for maintaining the batch coding process as per daily production plans.
To operate the automatic visual inspection machine, leak test machine, labeling Machine, automatic blister & cartonator machine, checkweigher, Track & trace etc.
Experience
Experience working with Nichrome or Pakona Form Fill Seal Packaging Machine.
Experience working with food powders and premixes.
Knowledge on Operating the machinery used for packaging products in the manufacturing area daily.
Basic mathematical and reading skills and coming up with better ideas to boost up the production.
Basic knowledge in pneumatics, electricals, mechanicals related to machinery.
Should have good hands on machine changeover
Basic shop skills, such as using hand tools for machinery maintenance/ spares replacement and spares management.
